Pixi Glow Tonic is an ‘acid toner’, which means a toner that has an acid in it. In this case that acid is glycolic acid (5% glycolic acid) an AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acid. It is not available in India (I am not sure as I haven’t seen it here). My husband bought this for me may be from Malaysia or Dubai. I don’t remember exactly. He bought this 6 or 7 months back. So today’s post is all about Pixi Glow Tonic (Yes! it is my first product of this brand 😉 )
I checked online for Indian price of this product
Price: 1640 Rs
Qt: 250 ml (The one I have is 500 ml)
Direction of use:
• Use: Either in the AM and PM or when needed.
• Step 1: Cleanse your face
• Step 2: Saturate a cotton pad with the Glow Tonic and sweep across face, neck and décolletage (avoiding eye area).
• Step 3: Follow with the a serum or moisturizer
My opinion about the product:
The tonic looks and feels like plain water. Although the bottle looks orange, the content inside is actually colourless. So I guess the bottle has organish tinge not the toner. It has a weird, grandma powder-ish scent that I don’t like. I mentioned this above that it has AHA is good for adding moisture to the skin, as well as resurfacing the skin by helping dead skin cell removal and promoting quicker cell turnover. I am using this every morning and evening for around 1 months. I have seen a dramatic change in my skin. After cleansing I simply apply some to a cotton pad, and sweep across my face and neck. It doesn’t leave any weird or sticky residue, which I love, and leaves my skin feeling plump and refreshed.
Apart from glycolic acid, it has also many other skin-benefiting ingredients. I am very happy with the presence of aloe vera juice extract (which has soothing effect) and witch hazel leaf extract. It also has a little bit of ginseng extract for which has anti-aging benefits. The hazel extract works as skin toning and astringent, which is gentler with sebum balancing and anti-inflammatory benefits. So over all I am very much impressed with the ingredient list 🙂
Initially I was bit skeptical about using is (the presence of acid was scaring me). But due to lower level of glycolic acid it doesn’t irritate your skin. It works on my acne and also helps in shrinking skin pore. I don’t have scar so can’t precisely comment on the effectiveness of this tonic on scars. It’s a really good pocket, if your budget allows and also it is available (If you can buy from abroad) you should definitely give it a try.
The only cons I found about this product is the unavailability in India. No matter how much you like it, it is bit difficult to re-purchase.
