Aarav was 2.6 years old when I received a notice from school that I have to make him wear dhoti and kurta (On 2nd October). And I was like how will I make a toddler wear a dhoti. No doubt he gave us a real tough time but we (mommy and daddy successfully) did it. I know! A lot of you may also go through it as more or less you have to make him wear dhoti one day. Generally boys wear it but your girl may also need to wear it (may be in a fancy dress competition. So in this post I am sharing how to make your kid wear dhoti 🙂
Step 1: The very first step is to fold the cloth in two halves, draping it from behind and making a tight knot on the waist. Keep your kid engaged as you never know what can make him/her angry.
Step 2: Now from the left side, take the excess fabric from between your legs, pleat it and tuck it behind, on the waistline.
Step 3: Make sure that it’s not too tight on the legs or at the ankle otherwise, it would restrict the kid’s movement and may even fall out. Comfort clothes are must have for kids or else they get irritated.
Step 4: After this take the excess cloth or fabric from the right side. Now pleat it and tuck in on the waist in such a way that some fabric still remains hanging. Also, while pleating it, make sure that the border of the fabric is in the vertical direction. Now you are almost done.
Step 5: All you have to do with the remaining fabric is, to take it and drape it around the waist and tuck it at the front of the waist.Â
Bingo! Your cutie is all ready ethnic style 🙂Â
