Sunscreen is an essential component of any skincare regimen to protect your skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure. Its texture and finish are crucial factors in ensuring it complements your specific skin type, especially since it’s typically the final product applied in your routine. For me too it is a must have product and currently I am using Dot & key Watermelon Cooling SPF 50 Sunscreen. You can also read the review of Dot & Key Watermelon Face Wash Here. In this post I am shedding light on my experience with Dot & key Watermelon Cooling SPF 50 Sunscreen.
Category: Sunscreens are perhaps one of the most essential line of defense that comes in between the harsh rays of the sun and your skin. Dot & Key’s Watermelon cooling sunscreen has so far proved to be a very effective product for my oily skin and I have many good things to say about it.
About the product: Experience daily luminosity and sun protection with our instant cooling sunscreen. Enriched with the refreshing goodness of Watermelon, the hydrating power of Hyaluronic Acid, and effective UV Filters, it delivers a cooling sensation while enhancing your skin’s radiance. This multitasking formula not only cools and hydrates your skin but also works to minimize uneven skin tone.
Defend against the full spectrum of harmful rays – UVA, UVB, and blue light – to prevent tanning and sun damage. Our water-light, quick-absorbing sunscreen seamlessly blends into your skin, leaving behind no white cast. Enjoy luminous and safeguarded skin every day.
Ingredients: Aqua, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Benzophenone-3, Phospholipids, 1,3 Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Starch, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Titanium Dioxide, Silica, Dimethicone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Stearate, Sucrose Cocoate, Sodium Lactate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Betaine, Fructooligosaccharides, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Menthyl Lactate, Oxothiazolidine, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Hyaluronate.
Price & Quantity: The sunscreen is available at a cost of INR 495 for a quantity of 50gm. The price stands at a pretty good point given most of its competitor brands.
How to use it: Apply the sunscreen as the last product in your AM skincare regime. Apply liberally to cover the exposed portions of the skin. Re-application is suggested every 2-3 hours depending on how long you are exposed under the sun.
Packaging: This sunscreen is packaged in a distinctive tube with a unique shape. To dispense the product, simply squeeze the tube, and it will flow out through a convenient nozzle. The tube can be sealed shut with a white cap. The sleek and innovative design of the tube is a significant advantage of this product, as it enhances its portability and suitability for travel.
My opinion about the product: This Sunscreen has truly transformed my skincare routine. Its formula boasts a thin, fluid consistency paired with a creamy texture that effortlessly glides onto the skin. A quick massage and the product seamlessly absorbs, leaving my skin with a wonderfully smooth finish. It imparts a subtle dewiness without any greasiness, and I’ve never experienced any issues with product pilling on my skin. Interestingly, I haven’t detected any cooling sensation upon application, despite the product’s name.
What I appreciate about this sunscreen is its lack of noticeable fragrance and its non-comedogenic nature, which makes it a perfect match for my oily skin. In terms of water resistance, it stands up well to sweat and remains intact unless you’re sweating excessively and consistently.
Among its notable ingredients, watermelon provides a cooling effect, while hyaluronic acid, beetroot extract, and UV filters offer added benefits. I must admit that the brand’s claim regarding improved Vitamin D absorption escapes my understanding. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed using this sunscreen and plan to continue purchasing it in the future.
What I do not like about the product…
- Travel friendly packaging
- Suitable for oily skin
- Water resistant to some extent
- Fragrance free
- Slightly matte finish
- Does not pill on application
What I do not like about the product…
- Some unique claims that I didn’t understand
- Old age sun filters
