I am among those unlucky souls who have dark neck problem. I am well aware about the causes & still not able figure out exact reason in my case. Finding reason is not in my hands but solution is definitely. I am sharing 4 home remedies which is effective for dark neck. You can pick/choose any one remedy & start using it regularly 🙂
Here are some reasons for dark neck:
- Chemicals in cosmetics or skin care products
- Obesity and/or diabetes
- Poor hygiene
- Exposure to the sun for long periods
- Environmental pollutants
- Fungal infections
- Aloe Vera Gel: I trust this remedy a lot. I have aloe vera plant in my garden & using it very easy.
Process:
- First of all cut open the leaf and extract the gel.
- Scrub your neck for a few minutes with this gel. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
- Rinse with water.
The fresh aloe vera gel is super effective, don’t use the packed one those brands are selling. Repeat this every day for quick results.
2. Gram Flour: Gram flour is an ingredient easily available in Indian kitchen. It is an effective scrub and will work very well to remove any of the dead skin cells.
Process:
- In a bowl take the 2-3 tsp gram flour and a pinch of turmeric and make it into a paste using water.
- Apply this paste on neck or affected area and leave it on for about 30 minutes or until it is completely dry.
- Now scrub the mask off.
- Rinse & pat dry.
For better result apply this remedy thrice in a week.
3. Potato: It is a natural bleaching agent & also helps in skin lightening. Which makes it effective on dark neck.
Process:
- Mix the potato and lemon juice and apply on the area of hyper pigmentation.
- After 15 minutes, rinse with cold water.
Use this remedy once or maximum twice in a week. Regular use with help in lightening dark neck.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar: It is also effective for dark neck but you have sensitive skin then avoid it.
Process:
- In a bowl dilute Apple Cider Vinegar with water.
- Apply this solution with a cotton ball on the neck.
- Leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse with water.
This remedy works slowly but definitely gives visible result on regular use.
Basically all the 4 remedies are effective but you can pick/choose any one. Start using it regularly for visible results.
