It is already hot even before the official start of the Summer and what more do we need other than having a calming shower with soothing fragrance. And when it is a body shop Product there is no turning back. I love all their products especially there is always a special love for bath and body products. And this particular variant was there in my bucket list for quite a long time and when there was a black-Friday offer I just jumped in and grabbed The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo as my first product. Let’s see if it deserves all the hype.

Packaging: It comes in a gigantic big plastic bottle packaging and the whole bottle is printed with all the information. To say in detail, this bottle is loaded with every single info about the product that you point your finger randomly at any point on it you will end up seeing some detail. I am not sure if I like the packaging since I found it to be over printed with all the details. Since it is 400 ml one obviously it is not travel-friendly, if required we can transfer it to some other tiny bottle and take it along with us. Top of the bottle has flip cap which is very sturdy and dispense right amount of product
Fragrance: It smells strongly of Ginger as the name says and people with sensitive nose can very well skip the product since the smell tends to be very strong and stays for quite some time. But I found it to be a kind of refreshing smell though in the beginning the term Ginger was not going well with me.
More about the product: As you all know TBS does not tests its products on animals to which I give a big thumbs up and this particular product is loaded with strong ingredients which removes all the flakes from your hair right from your first wash. To talk about how it worked on me, I am left with only little of the product which will last me for another 2 wash by which I am trying to convey that I am super eligible to talk about this Shampoo.
Firstly, it is a clear transparent gel based shampoo which lathers well maybe be because of the presence of SLS. And secondly, very small amount is required for one wash. To be very frank, I had itching sensation in my first two washes and I was very disappointed with that fact that I discontinued using it. And I also had very bad dandruff that time and was making me feel more miserable as I invested so much money on this trusting to solve my dandruff issues. Then my roommate who is a big time hoarder of TBS came with a suggestion for me to dilute the shampoo gel with more water and to use it, and it worked amazingly. So on my scalp diluted version worked well and cleared all the dandruff whereas the raw concentrated one made my scalp aggravated and made it feel itchier.
I have curly hair and people with curly hair will know this term for sure “CG friendly” (Curly Girl). So this shampoo is definitely not CG friendly as it has SLS which tends to be very harsh for the hair. The only downside of this product is that it makes the hair extremely dry post wash which makes you to grab the conditioner for sure.
PROS:
- Clears dandruff effectively.
- Presence of Piroctone Olamine and zinc pyrithione which are known for its anti-dandruff agents.

CONS:
- Presence of SLS and few other harmful chemicals.
