Hi Guys!
This is my first post on ZZM so please accept my apology in advance if I don’t live up to your exception. However I will try my best. I simply love eye shadow palette so decided to start with the review of same. In this post I will be reviewing NYX Cosmic Metals Eye Shadow Palette.
The palette comes with 6 decently sized shimmery shadows. The packaging is plastic but it doesn’t feel flimsy. I got the palette for about $10 at my local Ulta Beauty. The pigmentation varies slightly depending on the color. The peachy champagne color (top left of the palette/first swatch on the left) and the light gold color (bottom right of the palette/last swatch) are the least pigmented in my opinion.
The dark maroon shade (bottom middle of the palette) also comes off a little more sheer than the other colors when applied to the lid. The other colors are pretty pigmented and are pretty rich in color payoff. The shadows are sort of buttery but I’ve felt softer shadows. They blend nicely and are not too difficult to work with. The intensity is build-able but too many layers can cause the eye shadow to look a little chunky because of the shimmer particles.
I have also noticed that there is a little bit of glitter fallout even when applied on top of a primer but it isn’t too bad since it isn’t pigmented fallout, it’s just glitter specks. I normally put my face makeup on after i do my eyes so i just dust it off with a fluffy brush or wipe it with a makeup wipe.
Wear wise, they last pretty much all day with a primer underneath. It didn’t crease or slide off on its own. The colors are wearable. They are pretty neutral colors that can work with both a day or night look.
So overall if you like shimmery metallic shadows, go for it. It is decently priced, has pretty colors, and has pretty good quality shadows. They are relatively pigmented and you can definitely make day or night looks with it.
