Who said lip balms are only for winter… Do you know that even hot weather can make your lips super dry…Yes… I am currently experiencing it and when I was looking for something new to try I was excited to know that Nivea was launching something new in their lip balm range. I decided to pick the “Hot Pink” Range and let’s see how it worked for me..
Price: Rs 249 for 3 gms
Shelf Life: 1 Year from the date of Manufacture
Variants:
- Hot Pink
- Pop Red
- Coral Crush
Packaging: It comes in a hard Paper Packaging where the product is sealed in a strong plastic hold. Product is a retractable one which is a definite hit for me as I Prefer twist up packaging then the Pot ones. It feels more hygienic and travel-friendly. Outer Packaging has all the important details like ingredients, expiry date etc… And bottom of the lip balm also bears the expiry date which is really good as we tend to throw the outer packaging. Transparent cap shuts down Properly which is again a good thing.
Formula: I think it’s all about formula especially when you talk about a lip balm. It has really a wonderful formula and texture which I appreciate about. It glides on easily like all other leading lip balms and even similar to the own house brand “Nivea” but what stands separate in this product is that the wonderful moisturizing part which I personally felt to be top among all the lip balms that I have used in recent days. It gives you required tint and doesn’t look sheen or glossy on the lips. Yes, it tends to accentuate the dry patches on your lips and exfoliating should be a better option in this case to get better use of this Product.
Colour: I wish I could have gone for Red shade since the pink one doesn’t compliment my warm skin tone but since I use it as a base for my lips I don’t think it should be of a major disadvantage, Still I would say it as a lovely fuschia pink shade which provides enough tint on your lips and looks supple and healthy. It might go to a waxier texture if you over use it, so I recommend you to go light hand.
Fragrance: It has a strong fruity fragrance and I personally love it but people who are sensitive to strong smell can skip it but one thing is it fades off in a minute post application.
Longevity: As a lip balm I did not expect it to last long but trust me it stays long more than what I expected. Once I got the product, I applied it immediately on my lips and had my evening coffee and even after dinner it stayed on. So, I would say it easily lasts around 5 hours which is quite cool.
Overall Verdict: I will definitely recommend this product though the price is on a heavier side considering it to be for a lip balm and also the quantity is also less comparatively but I really do no mind paying it for a wonderful product like this which does what it claims. And guys it’s a steal when you grab it in discounted price 9 I got it for 175 Rs from Myntra sale) , so keep checking for offers
