Hello Friends! Today I’ll be sharing my review, swatches, and wear-test with you on the new shades of Maybelline’s Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks collection in the shades “Seductress” and “Amazonian.”
Even though this lipstick formula is long-lasting and bulletproof, the comfort and wear ability for me is sacrificed in the process. This is extremely uncomfortable for me–it always remains sticky, which is strange (as you’d think stickiness would indicate short-wear, but not with this.) I also really don’t like the sickly-sweet artificial cookie scent of these, but I will say it does fade over time.
If you love long-wearing lipsticks, then these may be right up your alley. This formula stayed pretty much bulletproof to eating, drinking, and general wear. I don’t think I’ve ever worn a lipstick so long-wearing.
I really don’t see myself ever wearing these again, which is a shame due to the good shade selection, and the face I paid $11 each for these. My lip condition just can’t take the ultra-longevity. I would definitely wear something like the NYX Liquid Suede Liquid Lipsticks, which may not wear as long, but wears off beautifully and even and still provides comfort and a matte finish.
While these didn’t work for me, I see a lot of people who enjoy these. If you like a long-wearing formula, you may really like these, but if you’re like me and like a bit of comfort, for me, these lacked heavily in that department.
