Hola Amigos!
I have already reviewed Seductress and Ruler (Read Here) shades of Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Un-nudes range of lipsticks. In this post, I will be reviewing “Poet” shade of this range.
Price: 615 Rs
How to apply it:
Step 1. Apply liquid lipstick in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth.
Step 2. Glide the liquid lipstick across the entire bottom lip.
Shade: Poet is a Baby Pink Nude shade.
My opinion about the product: This I have mentioned in my previous review too that I’m not much of a fan of these pale nude lip colours, but there’s this tiny window during summer while I’m at my most suntanned, and at that point I do enjoy pale, peachy lip colours that evoke that 60’s Brigitte Bardot type look. My experience with Seductress & Ruler is really good, so my hope was high with “Poet” shade too. Poet is a Baby Pink Nude shade, which actually looks cool in swatch but not on my lips.
Even though this lipstick formula is long-lasting and bulletproof, the comfort and wear ability for me is sacrificed in the process. This is extremely uncomfortable for me–it always remains sticky, which is strange (as you’d think stickiness would indicate short-wear, but not with this.) I also really don’t like the sickly-sweet artificial cookie scent of this, but I will say it does fade over time.
If you love long-wearing lipsticks, then this may be right up your alley. This formula stayed pretty much bulletproof to eating, drinking, and general wear. I really don’t see myself ever wearing this shade again. I am not liking this shade much on my lips, it is washing off my face. May be it can suit your skin tone but definitely I am keeping it aside.
