Hey Ladies!!
So last month I ran out of mascara and decided to jump on the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara bandwagon and see what the hype was all about! I took a trip to Superdrug and saw that Maybelline also had released another mascara, the Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. As there was a buy one get on half price offer on I decided to try out both of them and see which I preferred!
I have never been a fan of drugstore mascaras especially from the cheaper brans such as Rimmel London and Maybelline as apposed to Revlon or Max Factor. I have always relied on a bold winged eyeliner to bring out my eyes so I have never really cared much for having super long lashes. Another blogger gifted me the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara last year and I absolutely loved it and realized how much better it looked when my lashes were bought out properly! I then stuck to using that mascara but once I had run out I had my heart set on purchasing the full one rather than returning to drugstore mascaras however the hype around the Maybelline Lash Sensational filled me with curiosity especially after seeing how well it worked on Zoella (Zoe Sugg) in many of her tutorials. I needed to try it! That’s me, stubborn towards hypes meaning I am the last on the bandwagon!
I have been using these mascaras for a while now and have developed a preference for one of them so I will review both of them in this blog post!
Firstly is the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. I love the packaging of this mascara, it is quite unique compared to most mascaras! It has reflective red all the way along it apart from the middle which is black with the name of the mascara on it and just some product details on the back. This mascara has a very different brush in comparison the the Lash Sensational. The applicator is long and plastic with very short plastic bristles all around which are used to get between the lashes and elongate them. I feel these bristles are too short to be very effective and I most definitely do not think the mascara lives up to its name as I do not feel as though I am wearing falsies. However, it still works rather well especially as it is a drugstore product. It does the job and does really bring out my lashes but I wouldn’t say there is anything spectacular about it that I have not found from other mascaras before.
Overall I would give this mascara a 6/10, I would not re-purchase it but I do still reach for it often and like I said, it does the job!
Moving onto the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Now this mascara well, it is most definitely sensational! Firstly I love the packaging! The shape of it might not be very unique but I love the beautiful lilac/light purple shade and the simple yet bold and eye catching font used to print the mascara name on the packaging. The wand its self is more like a comb plastic applicator with rows of plastic bristles going downwards. The applicator is curved so that it gets all lashes rather than having to go back and forth as you would with a straight applicator. The Maybelline lash sensational mascara claims to be a ‘lash multiplying mascara’ and that is most definitely what it is! After not using a good mascara for a while I felt like I had eye lashes again, it really multiplied and elongated my lashes beautifully making them much more fuller, my mum even asked why I was wearing false lashes to college! I cannot believe how long I waited before jumping on the bandwagon for this product, now I understand why there was such a hype around it!
I honestly give it a 10/10, I will definitely be re-purchasing this when I run out of it and I highly recommend you join us on the bandwagon if you haven’t already.
