Hello Pretties!!!
Do you want a full and rich lip colour that lasts all day long? The answer lies in a matte finish lipstick. Beauty trends come and go, but the matte lips seem to be here to stay, and I couldn’t be happier – it’s sophisticated, bold, and most importantly, it’s not sticky! I tried the Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte Metallic Lipstick and if you’re eager to know how this lipstick performs, read on. Here’s my detailed review of this on Serpentine shade of this range 🙂 Let me tell you that shade is not for the faint of heart 😉

Packaging: The packaging looks a lot similar to the other lipsticks from the Colour Sensational range. The lipstick comes wrapped in a plastic cover with “powder matte”. written over it. But, I hate the fact that the name isn’t printed on the case as the name gets thrown away with the plastic wrapper, the moment I open it. The shade name is printed on the base, so it is a bit inconvenient to see it every time. The lipstick would have been so much better if it was colour-coded, but it has the shade name at the base, so that settles it. The packaging is handy and good-looking too. The bullet works well with a twist-up mechanism, so there are no flaws with the packaging.
My Opinion about the product: Serpentine is an emerald green shade with a silver metallic reflection. The colour looked warmer on my lips than it initially appeared in swatches, so it may retain its coolness on someone with a cooler skin tone or different lip pigmentation. The consistency was waxy, thin but comfortable to wear, and never tugged when I applied. It wore well for four and a half hours and had a tendency to sit in my lip lines as it wore. The formula did not seem drying nor was it hydrating. The lipstick glides very smoothly onto my lips without any effort. It provides a non-drying matte finish to the lips, which I love. The lipstick doesn’t cling onto the dry flakes on my lips and doesn’t settle into the fine lines too. I love the super matte finish of this lipstick. The pigmentation is pretty okay in the first swipe, but the moment you swipe it for 2-3 times, you would love the colour. However, it does not fade away completely; it leaves a bright stain, which can be easily removed with a makeup remover. So, if you love matte lipsticks, pick this one up. The shade which I have got is really very pretty. Some of you might be thinking that when should we use this shade but it can be used in different forms like eye shadow, contouring etc.
What I liked about the product…
- Creamy, matte lip formula with stunning metallic finish.
- Glides smoothly over the lips for a smooth application.
- Intensely pigmented shades.
- Bold shades and finish.
What I don’t liked about the product…
- No colour-coded packaging.
- I have used similar lipsticks from Maybelline before.
- They test on animals.
