Today I’ll be reviewing the Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen MatteGel. Even though it’s an essential part of skincare in winters too, but we’ve all been through the guilt of skipping this step. As we bid adieu to winters, a sunscreen becomes a must have in our daily skincare routine. And while it’s a must, using a sunscreen becomes a bit cumbersome because of all the oily, sweaty feel it gives…
When choosing a sunscreen that suits your skin type becomes tedious, this Lotus Herbals sunscreen comes to your rescue.. as its perfect for both oily and dry skin and is easily available in your nearby drugstore as well as online.
Ingredients:
Price: 50 gms costs for ₹295/-
Packaging: Comes in a plastic tangerine colored, tube pack. It is easily extractable through the flip open cap and the detachable cap is also leak-proof, its hence travel friendly too.
Product: The gel itself has a whitish colour, that doesn’t show after its application. It has a gel like consistency and has a vague fragrance..
Claims: An innovative sunblock which is totally non oily and provides a fresh and clean finish to the face , neck and hands. It protects against all forms of sun induced damage skin tan, sunburn, premature ageing and skin cancer.
My opinion: I have dry skin so this one doesn’t bother me at all as it has a matte finish and gets easily absorbed into the skin. A very little quantity is enough for my face and neck. I love it’s non-greasy formula as it doesn’t get oily even after hours of application. Another boon of the sunscreen being matte is that it works well as a base for makeup also.
But people with oily skin there’s no need to be upset as my mom, who has really oily skin also uses it and it works equally well for her too.
I do re-apply it after 3-4 hours because like any other sunscreen this too wears off with sweat. I like the product for this reason also that it is available in a varied SPF range and it provides both UVA and UVB protection.
Another good thing about this product is that it has a really light formulation that did not give me any breakouts.
The only thing that I don’t like about this product is that it contains both silicon and parabens and being someone who tries using natural and organic products, this is a huge turn down for me…
Pros:
- Gives a matte finish
- Easily absorbs into the skin
- Non oily and non greasy
- Provides protection against both UVA and UVB
- Suits almost all skin types
Cons:
- Contains parabens and silicone
- Price is a bit on the higher side
Overall I’ll rate it 6/10.
Will I buy it again? At this price point, I’d prefer buying a Paraben and Silicone free sunscreen.
