Lotus is an Indian brand and having a lot of herbal products in their range. So recently my mom was using this kajal and she was very much impressed with it. I thought of giving it a try. It was just amazing. It’s like jet black, smudge and water proof, totally! Lasts long, and have also won the Nykaa Femina Beauty Award.

Packaging: The kajal comes in a rectangular outer packaging, a glossy black and pale yellow outer box. Just like very very normal and regular packaging of kajal. It is not a roll on, it’s like a pencil, and which I found to be it’s big disadvantage!
My opinion about the product: I am not a person who actually goes for such pricey kajals, but as it was already in use I just gave a try. It is amazing. I have never used a kajal other than roll on types. Somehow I felt that it is easier to apply than roll on-s. But of course, it’s a hassle to sharpen it, and also to get a kajal sharpener of the right size.
But apart from that fact, it has very dark pigmentation. It proves whatever it claims, i.e. it is water proof, smudge proof and lasts long, for almost 10 hours. With one stroke you get that dark jet black colour. It is not shiny, and also not totally matte. It’s kind of in-between. This kajal is suitable for contact lens wearers too as it is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.
The only problem is that the tip is very delicate, and thus tip breaks off easily and thus has to be extremely careful while sharpening. As it is from the range of herbal products, it does not lead to any itchiness or red eyes at all.
What I like about this product….
It is completely smudge proof.
It is water proof.
It is long lasting (around 10 hours).
Dark black pigmentation.
In one stroke you get dark black colour.
Free of paraffin, animal oil and preservatives.
Ophthalmologist approved.
What I don’t like about this product….
Quite expensive.
You actually have a lot of good kajal options in this price range.
Sharpening becomes a hassle.
I would like to rate it 3/5. Not that the kajal isn’t good, but it is quite expensive and the fact that it is not a roll on is kind of turn off!!
