It recently ordered Lakme Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry compact in shade Almond honey. This claims to be effective for 16 Hr which is more than enough for a working woman like me. It came in a cardboard packaging which my girl destroyed immediately. It is like impossible to hide products from her she literally runs behind my life. In this post I will be sharing my experience with this compact 🙂

Packaging: This compact comes in a cardboard box on which you will find all the details. It has 2 different compartments, where one has the compact powder and the other comes with a sponge. The compact has a push-open sort of opening, and the name of the shade is mentioned at the base of the compact and this comes with a mirror within as well. The packaging is very good & I daily carry it in my bag for office 🙂
My opinion about the product: I got the shade 06 Almond Honey (I am NC 43.5 in MAC Studio Fix), the darkest color & still it’s not a good match for me. Don’t know why their base makeup products look so orangish. The puff is good quality but wafer thin & small, which I’d say is handy for touch ups. I like it. I always use a powder brush to apply powder & that works fine for me.
The powder itself is super fine. It blends flawlessly. Applied on the skin it felt smooth,very light & very natural as if I was wearing nothing. Coverage is light. If you are like me, who prefers to use a light coverage powder for every day use, you would love this. It works well as a setting power over foundation too. It’s great for women with oily skin. Really helps to keep the skin fresh, matte & oil free for a long time. This is almost fragrance free. Just a hint of floral, which is not noticeable at all. I have no complaint with the powder or the quality of the product. It’s actually good.
It just whitens my face a bit, not in a bad way. I can ‘make do’ with it. I wouldn’t have bought this shade if I had another option though.
What I like about this product….
- Good Packaging with a compact powder, sponge and a full sized mirror.
- Finely milled powder, thus giving a soft smooth texture.
- Gives sheer-Medium coverage.
- Has SPF 17.
- Gives a nice well finished look.
- Controls oil for a good 4 hrs.
- Brightens the skin.
What I don’t like about this product….
- Limitation of shades.
- A bit expensive.
- Cannot be used wet. It looks patchy, uneven.
- Cannot be used over a foundation, It might become heavy.
