Bonjour amis!
I always used to wonder that is it possible to have a eye-shadow in pen or pencil form so that can be applied without any fuss. If you are new into makeup world then you will 100% understand the struggle of applying eye-shadow in one go. Luckily I got two eye-shadow sticks of brand “Kiko” as a gift from my cousin who lives in USA. These eye-shadow sticks are available in 16 shades & the shades I have are Golden mauve & Burgundy.
Direction of use:
- Just begin to apply following the lash line, and if you like, you can fill in the entire upper lid, repeating the application until the desired colour intensity is achieved.
- For graphic make up, wait a few moments until the texture dries, or else blend delicately right after application using the fingertips or a flat brush.
Packaging: Each eye-shadow comes in matte black plastic pen form. The cap is easy to remove. Despite them having the same packaging, you can’t mix up the caps – for some strange reason the caps/tubes have minute differences, so it’s not one-size-fits-all. So the packaging is a bit regular but at the same time sturdy & travel friendly 🙂
My opinion about the product: The eye shadow sticks I have in the Long Lasting Stick Eye-shadow are 36 Golden Mauve and 37 Burgundy. Golden Mauve is a warm-toned mauve-y pink with golden shimmer and Burgundy is a warm-toned cranberry pink shade. It has a satin finish. In terms of saturation, I have no complaints about the mauve shade. It is a very beautiful color with small golden shimmers which just add an interesting overflow and are almost invisible. This shade blends well into the skin and in the event of bald spots they are not so noticeable and calmly filled. But I am so confused about the shade Burgundy, when a thick layer of this shade it applied it pays off Burgundy color. But when shade fades, it looks like brown, it can be seen in the swatch.
I specifically tested them without a base, in one case I powdered, and in the other not. They are self-fixing, and “covering them with loose shadows is not necessary” (according to the manufacturer). The powdered version in my case really worked 100% – the shadows did not roll and kept like nailed down. Not powdery shadows rolled into a fold as soon as I blinked a couple of dozen times. And only then they were fixed. Given that the dark color is problematic and has to be leveled for a long time, you simply do not have time to fix how they have already rolled up.
ZZM Rating: 4.5/5
Will I recommend this? Yes! These eye-shadow sticks are excellent. The shade range is really wonderful. They’re also interesting enough to wear as single shadow looks. But there is one issue that you won’t find it easily in India.
