If you would have asked me about blogging say 10 years ago, and to make it a part of your career, I would have probably laughed at you! I thought that for good jobs you need to be a part of some big 9-5 organization!
But apparently, that’s not the case today! Things have changed! Blogging is not only being limited to be a hobby now, it has also become a great full time career option for many!

Step 1: What is your preferred niche?
When it comes to beauty, it has a number of sub niche, viz. Skin, Hair, DIYs, Nails etc etc etc. That’s a never ending list! The first thing that you have to focus is to find out which segment you are passionate about. Or is it like you are passionate about many of them? That’s not a problem too!! Only point here is your ideas, which will get converted to contents, should be unique. It must have an identity of its own!
Read out as many blogs as possible, find out what exactly are there which is attracting you. Once you get that, you also are there to know how to make your own blog lucrative and unique from the rest!
Do NOT get tempted to copy someone, because that’s where you will lose your fan base! So the mantra is, “Follow, but don’t copy!”
Step 2: Set up the domain name and web page
Once you know what you are going to start with, the next step comes to choose a blog name and also to choose a platform for the blog to start. The best and most user friendly platforms are blogger.com and wordpress.com. Even choosing a relatable, as well as a catchy domain name also matters. Check for the availability of the same, and you are good to go!
Step 3: Match up with the trend
Spotting a trend way before it becomes viral in the blogging domain and catching up to that is gonna give you a boost! Start looking up for some celebrity social media, fashion magazines, follow them and try to match up with those. But again, think out of the box, deliver something new, but at the same time relevant.
Having said that, these are not the only ways to follow and keep up with the trend. You can try something also in a way which will provide interesting entertainment to your readers. You can also start some uniquely new trend which, you never know can one day go viral!!
Step 4: Be organised
This is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to follow if you want to be successful in blogging area. Always jot down the ideas that you have as the subsequent ones to publish so that you don’t miss on any of those. Doing so will avoid any last minute rushed posts, and thereby will be an enriching content!
Always remember, “NOW or NEVER”. Once you lose the track or fall back on the trend, there might be 1000s of people to overthrown you from your race. Moreover, one you have a plan and a organized schedule, you will automatically be able to deliver your best in it, and that’s what is mostly needed!!
Step 5: Plan on how to promote and get traffic
Now the point comes is that you have to let people know what you are trying to deliver to them, right? That’s where promotion of your own blog comes into picture. Social media is the best way these days to promote these things.
Pages like instagram, facebook, twitter are most common social medias by which you can reach out to people, build up your own fan base and at the same time also promote your blog! This can be a great way to increase your blog’s popularity and get followers that will convert to loyal readers.
Also, prefer tagging people or pages from whom you take your inspiration, this form of collaboration builds relationship, and is a nice way to reach audience!
Step 6: Be Honest and Unique!
When it comes to beauty, presentation matters a LOT!! Your unique way of presentation will make you reach up to a large audience in no time and also create a good fan base. Just remember, be HONEST. Don’t deliver false information to your viewers, as that will definitely not help you in the long run.
There might be a lot of lucrative offers from different brands which might ask you to misguide your audience, in those cases, its completely fine to turn down that offer and stand on your own point. Deliver what you think is right, and only right!
Once you get the confidence from your viewers, you are there!!
