We have been introduced to the world of roll-ons since long. Brands like Nivea and Dove have remained the mainstream source of these products for many years. Now however, we are seeing many new brands entering the market with innovative formulations that go inside their roll-ons. The most remarkable thing about these newer formulations is that they are crafted with exfoliating acids, which promise to deliver much more than fragrance to your skin. Currently I am using Earth Rhythm Shikimic Acid Deodorant Roll On and in this post I am going to review it 🙂
Category: A roll-on is a product that can be used to apply fragrance in liquid format on various parts of the skin. It is prominently used for the underarms since the prime purpose of a roll-on product is to keep the skin fragrant. Some roll-ons contain certain ingredients that block the sweat glands on the skin to prevent odour. They are popular as antiperspirants. However, The Earth Rhythm’s Sikhimic Acid roll-on masks odour without blocking any sweat glands. It contains active ingredients that mildly exfoliate the skin.
Ingredients: Aqua, Propendiol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Mandelic Acid, Polyglyceryl‐4 Cocoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Shikimic Acid, Lactic Acid, Palmitoyl Tripeptide‐5, Hyaluronic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Kojic Acid, Coconut alkanes, Coco caprylate/caprate, Phenoxyethanol, Triethylene glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Oil, Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil
Price: ₹ 399
Quantity: 80 ml
For the kind of formulation that it comes in, the product is priced quite reasonably.
How to use it: Make sure that your underarms or skin is absolutely dry and clean before applying the product. Squeeze the tube if needed, to extract the product in the required quantity. Use the roll-on to apply the product easily wherever required. The roll on has a twist and click mechanism after uncapping. This helps in preventing leakage.
Packaging: The Earth Rhythm’s Sikhimic Acid roll-on comes in a tube format with a roll-on ball at one end. The product can be extracted easily without any fuss.
My opinion about the product: There was a time when I was completely unimpressed with Nivea roll-ons, which is why I totally gave up on using them. I also remember using a roll-on from Oriflame many years ago. It used to leave a sticky film on my skin and clothes and would look like a thin layer of dried glue on my skin. These experiences were so bad that I had totally given up on the idea of using them.
However, these newer formulations like The Earth Rhythm’s Sikhimic Acid roll-on have completely changed my outlook towards using them in my daily routine.
The Earth Rhythm’s Sikhimic Acid roll-on contains a combination of ingredients that helps to neutralize body odour while improving the underarm skin texture and unclogs your sweat ducts. Shikimic Acid is an AHA that allows control and prevents the formation of bad odour. Moreover, it also acts as a powerful yet non-irritant exfoliating agent for your sensitive skin. A natural deodorizer, Shikimic Acid is known for antimicrobial properties that naturally minimize body odour. It also contains aloe leaf juice and hyaluronic acid.
The formulation is very gentle and suitable for every skin type. The fragrance is very mild and greatly reduces the extent of body odour. It might not provide very long protection against sweat but it is truly a sweet deal to go for. The formula absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. It also gives a slightly cooling sensation on the underarms. My recommendation would be to go for it.
