As a devoted admirer of Bioderma, I’m inevitably drawn to their products. There’s just something about the French approach to beauty that resonates with me, and I’m not alone in that sentiment. Over the years, I’ve explored various offerings from Bioderma, and after depleting my previous facial cleanser, I decided it was time to embark on a new adventure with their Bioderma Sébium Gel. With the reputation that Bioderma has built for itself, I had high expectations for this product. Now, allow me to share my experiences and insights into Bioderma Sébium Gel Moussant Purifying Cleansing Foaming Gel, as it adds another chapter to my ongoing exploration of Bioderma’s skincare range. I have both full size as well as sample size bottle of this product 🙂
About the product: Bioderma Sebium Gel Moussant is a purifying and foaming cleansing gel designed to delicately cleanse and detoxify the skin while maintaining its natural moisture balance. This gentle yet effective formula helps eliminate excess sebum and cleanse the outermost layer of the skin, preventing the pores from becoming clogged. Additionally, it helps regulate sebum secretion, promoting healthier skin.

How to use it: Morning and/or evening – 7 days a week
– Apply Sebium Gel moussant on damp skin.

Packaging: The 8 ml product comes in a plastic squeeze which appears to be blue colored due to the actual product. It has a green color screw cap. On the other hand the 100 ml or 200 ml bottle comes with the pump packaging. Overall the packaging is simple yet effective 🙂
My opinion about the product: This gel is blue in color and has a very thin consistency. The presence of fragrance in this product is unnecessary, and I personally don’t prefer skincare products with fragrances. Furthermore, this particular product has an overwhelming and excessively strong fragrance, reminiscent of drugstore men’s face and body washes. Despite using it repeatedly, I haven’t been able to get accustomed to the scent. This is quite surprising, as other product lines I’ve tried, like Sensibio and Hydrabio, had a subtle and understated fragrance.
The product’s formula is a thin gel with a bright blue color, likely due to the presence of Copper Sulphate. A small amount, just a pea-sized portion, is enough for my face and neck. While it doesn’t produce a rich lather, it has excellent slip, making it easy to spread across the skin.
In terms of cleansing, it performs well if you’ve thoroughly removed your makeup beforehand. However, if makeup is still on your face, this product alone won’t suffice, and you’ll need a second cleanse. I don’t wear makeup frequently, but I do use sunscreen daily, and I find that it does a decent job of removing residual sunscreen and dirt by the end of the day. After using it, my face feels fresh and clean, albeit slightly dry – not excessively dry, but I’ve used gentler face washes that were milder in comparison.
As for its efficacy, I found it to be rather average, especially considering its claim to control sebum. In my case, it didn’t seem to have any impact on sebum production, as my T-zone remained just as shiny by midday, whether I used this product or not.
