During this festive season, a time when the world sparkles with the magic of celebration and joy, it’s only natural for us, women, to desire our utmost radiance. We all yearn for that timeless, flawless skin that seems to mirror the innocence of youth, regardless of our age, be it in our 30s, 40s, or beyond. This is where a remarkable product known as “strobe cream” steps in. It acts as our secret weapon, accentuating our inherent beauty and elevating our appearance to a truly captivating level. If you are new to the term “Strobe cream” then to read FAQ section of this post.
In recent months, I noticed my skin appearing lackluster, and I made the decision to incorporate a strobe cream into my skincare routine. After some research, I chose to try out the Aqualogica Illuminate+ Lush Strobe Cream with Wild Berries and Alpha Arbutin. It claims to help you in achieving that glass skin which I die for 😉 . Now, I’d like to share my review of this product with you.
About the product: Experience a revolutionary Strobe Cream that provides immediate luminosity to your skin. Whether you choose to apply it as your everyday facial moisturizer for an all-encompassing radiant effect, blend it seamlessly with your foundation or blush, or simply dab it onto the prominent areas of your face, achieving a dazzling, diamond-like glow has never been this effortless.
Ingredients:
Price: ₹ 599
Quantity: 30 gm
Shelf life: 24 monthsÂ
How to use it:
1. Take a pea size of the product.
2. Use as a moisturiser, blend with your foundation or bb cream or dab on high points of your face.
Packaging: The cream is packaged in a Lilac squeeze tube with a pink screw cap. The choice of pink and silver fonts is a letdown, as it makes it nearly impossible to read the text with pink coloring. On the other hand, the color combination of the cardboard box is pleasing, with all information being clearly legible. The packaging as a whole is well done.
My opinion about the product:Â When you squeeze this cream, it appears white in color, but upon contact with your skin, a noticeable golden tint becomes visible. This effect aligns with the product’s claim of providing a golden glow. The cream boasts a luxurious texture that effortlessly melds with your skin, akin to the smoothness of butter. It can be seamlessly incorporated into your makeup routine, whether used in conjunction with foundation, BB cream, or a regular moisturizer.
This product serves as an effective moisturizer on its own, leaving your skin feeling adequately hydrated, eliminating the need for a separate moisturizer. However, it may not offer sufficient hydration during the winter months, especially for those with dry skin.
Undoubtedly, my skin radiates a more vibrant complexion when I apply this product directly or blend it with my BB cream. Since I don’t use foundation regularly, I can’t comment on its compatibility with that, but it certainly lives up to its claims. In a little experiment, I applied my regular moisturizer to one half of my face and this cream (applied directly without mixing with other products) to the other half, and the results were remarkably satisfying. The half with this cream appeared more luminous than the other. The best part is that this sorbet cream is incredibly lightweight; it effortlessly absorbs into the skin without leaving any sticky or greasy residue.
I am so happy with the result that I also ordered the other variant of this product i.e Radiance+ Lush Strobe Cream with Watermelon & Niacinamide. Definitely a must have product in your vanity for that instant glow without putting much products on your skin 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. What are Strobe Creams?
Answer: Strobe creams, often referred to as “highlighter” or “illuminating creams,” are cosmetics designed to enhance the natural luminosity and radiance of the skin. These creams typically contain light-reflecting particles, such as mica or other shimmering pigments, which create a subtle, iridescent glow when applied to the skin. Strobe creams come in different shades and formulations, allowing you to choose the level of luminosity that suits your skin tone and the desired intensity of the glow. These products are popular for achieving a youthful, healthy-looking complexion and enhancing the overall makeup look.
2. What are the uses of a strobe cream?
Answer: Strobe creams are versatile products that can be used in various ways:
i. As a Highlighter: Strobe creams are commonly applied to the high points of the face, such as the cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of the nose, to add a dewy, radiant finish to your makeup.
ii. Mixed with Foundation: They can be mixed with foundation to give your entire complexion a luminous, radiant look. This technique is popular for achieving a “glow from within” appearance.
iii. Moisturizer: Some people use strobe creams as a daily facial moisturizer to maintain a subtle, all-over glow.
iv. Blended with Blush: Strobe creams can be blended with blush for a softer, more natural flush of color with added luminosity.
v. Body Highlighting: In addition to the face, they can also be applied to the collarbones, shoulders, and other parts of the body to create an alluring shimmer.
3. Best strobe cream for Indian skin?
Answer: MAC Strobe Cream, Aqualogica strobe cream, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil, Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm, Maybelline Master Strobing Cream etc are good strobe creams available in India suitable for Indian skin tone.
4. What goes first primer or strobe cream?
Whether you should apply primer or strobe cream first depends on your desired makeup look and the effect you want to achieve. Here are the general guidelines:
- Primer First, Then Strobe Cream:
- If you want your makeup to last longer, smooth out your skin’s texture, and create a good base for foundation, start with a makeup primer. Primer can help minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and can also control oil or add hydration, depending on the type of primer you choose.
- After applying primer, you can then apply your strobe cream over it. This will allow the strobe cream to add its luminous glow on top of the smooth, primed canvas.
- Strobe Cream First, Then Primer:
- If you want a more intense, dewy glow and don’t mind sacrificing a bit of makeup longevity, you can apply the strobe cream first. This will give your skin a radiant base, and then you can apply primer over it.
- However, be aware that this method might reduce the effectiveness of the primer in terms of extending makeup wear.
