In India new session starts in April but due to Corona, schools will remain shut (until things will be normal). My boy too was supposed to join nursery this session. But as classes are not going on so we as parents can start home schooling for our kids. I am sharing Nursery class syllabus with you so that you guys get idea that what skills your little munchkin need to imbibe this session (In nursery).
1. Pre-writing skill: Always start with pre-writing skills. Don’t jump to numbers and alphabets.

2. Numbers: Once kid’s pencil holding skill is developed then you can start with numbers or alphabets. But you have to do it gradually, keeping child learning ability in mind.

- Number and its value
- Sequencing from ‘1-20’
- Count and Match
- Count and Circle
- Count and Colour
3. Alphabets (capital)
- Identification
- Tracing
- Objects related to each letter
4. Shapes
- Circle
- Square
- Rectangle
- Triangle
5. Colors
- Red, Yellow, Blue
- Orange, Green, Purple
- Black, White, Pink
6. Vocabulary
- Body parts: Head, eyes, nose, teeth etc.
- Vegetables: Simple one don’t rush to difficult one.
- Fruits: Simple one don’t rush to difficult one.
- Relationship: Maa/mummy, papa, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother etc.
Other activities:
- Planting and taking care of seeds in the garden
- Independence Day craft activity
- Activities related to various festivals
- Dramatization of plays/scenes
- Health & Hygiene Week
- Use and making of animal flash cards
- Collage making
- Making cards for special occasions
- Stick and hand puppets
- Story telling
- Picture reading
- Rhymes
- Displaying family pictures in the class
- Welcome cards
- Welcome craft activity
- Celebrating fruit days
- Preparing certain snacks like lemonade, vegetable salad, no heat cooking.
- Visit to the garden
- Clay modeling
Parents do remember every child is different & so is his/her learning capacity so you have to go gradually. Never pressurize/stress your kid. Make it an interesting experience 🙂
- Syllabus may very a bit (depending upon school) but more or less same in most of the school 🙂
