WOW Activated Charcoal Face Wash| Review

Have you ever been in the situation when you do not want to buy that particular product but the salesgirl/salesman is so good in convincing that you end up putting product in your cart. Yes! This happened with me recently. I was at Flipkart (earlier known as Best Price) for my monthly shopping when the salesgirl managed to buy me WOW activated charcoal face wash. Won’t lie I was not at all interested in this product still I purchased it. I have used it for 15 days and finally kept it aside. To know the reason please scroll down 🙂

About the product: WOW SKIN SCIENCE ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FACE WASH is a premium antipollution, antitoxin & anti-dirt face wash with activated charcoal beads to trap pollutants, toxins, dirt & impurities, and tea tree essential oil beads to disinfect, heal & soothe the skin.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Disodium Cocoamphoacetate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lactate, Polyacrylate 33, Sodium PCA, Aloevera Extract, Allantoin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Tea Tree Oil Beads, Activated Charcoal Beads & Fragrance.

How to use it: Splash water on face. Pump a small amount of WOW Skin Science Activated Charcoal Face Wash and lather between palms. Massage the lather on face for 1-2 minutes. Wash off using plain water.

Packaging: This face wash is packaged in a white colored colored plastic tube with a flip-open cover. This squeezable tube contains all of the details. The product is dispensed through a nozzle on the inside of the flip-flop cap. Because of the semi-transparent tube packaging, you can see how much product is left in it. There is no risk of spillage because the cap closes tightly. Packaging is decent one.

My opinion about the product: This face wash is transparent and has beads of charcoal and tea tree oil. The fact is that my eyes can only see black colored beads which should be of activated charcoal. So I am not sure that tea tree oil beads are present individually or are part of these black beads. The fragrance of this face wash is decent and do not bother your sensitive nose. The texture is quite runny and most of the time I end up with extra amount in my palm. Keep in mind that I have a big round face still it is extra for me he he 😉 So one has to be extra careful while dispensing out this product.

As face wash is runny in nature there is no point of these beads as they are not at all helping in exfoliation. Good thing is this face wash is parabens, sulphate, silicones and color free. Brand claims that it is suitable for all skin types including oil skin. I also have oily skin and I was using it twice in a day. In morning and in night before going to bed 🙂 No doubt this face wash cleanses well but from the first use I was feeling dryness in my my skin. Because of dryness there was this feeling of itching on my chin and forehead. Initially I thought it is because of summers, it damn hot in North India. But even after 12 -15 days I have same feeling so I have stopped using it.

It is not suiting to my sensitive skin. As if now I am keeping it aside and will not be using it. I would suggest not use it before patch test. The cleansing capacity is good apart from there is nothing WOW about this WOW face wash.
