Bonjour beautiful people,
Every time I come on here, on days like today, it takes me a while to ease you guys into the fact that I’m not a crazy lunatic, who is going to die alone at 60 in a house with 5000 highlighters. So yes, you get it, I guess. So putting that disclaimer aside, I am back with yet another highlighter review. Today, we are talking about a brand, which basically got me into this whole highlighter craze fiasco. And that is, drumroll please, THEBALM……
Mary-lou manizer was the first highlighter that I ever purchased, and recently Mary just got a new sister, Bonnie-lou Manizer.
Price: INR 1899
Quantity: 9g/0.32 OZ
Shelf life: 12 M
Direction of use: use a fan brush or fingers to apply product on the high points of the face and body.
Packaging: Well honestly there’s nothing new about this packaging. It’s just your OG highlighter packaging with a mirror. The thing that makes it stand out is the cute prints that TheBalm has in all its products. The theme of the every Lou-Manizer sisters is that each one is WANTED and is guilty of something. Bonnie is wanted for “skilled in changing looks”. How cute! Like literally! The outer packaging has all the relevant details, such as shelf life, ingredients, quanity, printed on it, as well as the actual container. The container is sturdy and closes with a click, and has a mirror.
My opinions on the product: the best highlighter in my opinion has to be the Mary-Lou Manizer. I’m emotionally attached to that one, it being my first ever highlighter. So when the Bonnie-Lou released, I was immediately in love, and got my hands on it ASAP. And boy, I’m glad that I did. Mary was more of a champagne-y shaded highlighter, Bonnie followed the same suit, but got a deeper and richer undertone. The shade is more on the bronzier side, but not as much as the Betty-Lou Manizer. The golden undertones in the highlighter makes it look really luxurious.
The texture and the formulation, I would say has improved to a big extent. The Mary-Lou kept breaking everytime, regardless of how many times I tried to fix it. Even though Mary is perfect in every sense, I couldn’t help but notice how creamy and smooth Bonnie is. The consistency of the product is perfect. The shade is buildable, from a soft glow from within look, to a bang on blinding finish. The product is very very finely milled, so there’s no glitter particles poking out.
What I like about the product:
- Texture
- Packaging
- Coverage
- Longevity
- Buildable
What I don’t like about the product:
- Price
ZZM RATING- 5/5
To conclude, this is one the best highlighters, and if you’re okay with the price, you should definitely get your hands on it.
Until next time, bonjour!
