SUGAR POP Matte Lipcolour (Peony-03)| Review & Swatch

Have you noticed that The Shehnaaz Gill is the new face of brand ‘ Sugar POP’. I was very excited to buy products of this brand and visited cosmetic shop near to my place for the same. To my surprise, the shop was full of Sugar POP products and one can easily see the SUGAR POP Matte Lipcolour displayed on the lipstick shelf. Sugar POP is offering products at super affordable price and it was hard to resist. So I decided to give a try to kajal & lipstick of this brand. Kajal is already reviewed on this blog. In this post, I will be talking about SUGAR POP Matte Lipcolour which in available in 15 different shades out of which I picked Peony-03. It is a reddish colour with undertones of pink.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Isododecane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Talc, Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propylene Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer and Silica, Fragrance, Vitamin – E, Approved Colours.

About the product:

How to use it:

• All you need is just one swipe of this matte lip colour that glides like magic on your lips and lasts super long!.
• Apply on bare lips starting from the center and working outwards.
• Allow the formula to dry and set.

Tip: Moisturizing your lips before application is always a good idea.

Packaging: This lipstick is packaged like a lipgloss which comes with a doe foot applicator. The doe foot applicator is slightly longer and skinnier which makes lipstick application easy. This tube easily slips in your clutch or handbag. The cap is Pink in colour and the body of the container is transparent to allow you to see the shade inside. A very vibrant cardboard box is also there but unfortunately shopkeeper gave me only this tube 🙁 If you want to see the outer packaging to click here.

My opinion about the product: If you decide to get your hands on this premium lipstick, this is what you are going to discover about it, upon application. The formula of the lip shade is quite light weight and offers a bold pay off. Perfected in a liquid matte formula, the lipstick contains a unique Primer oil which makes the lips supple and soft after application. The lipstick is also crafted with an advanced polymer technology that makes the lip shade stay for a longer time.

The price tag on it surprised me (affordable one) and  I could not resist getting one for myself. The formula by itself is quite comfortable on the lips. However, I had hoped for a more neutral red but this turned out to be a brighter one for me. The wand is also unique and helps in precise application of the product. You can get a perfect opaque shade in one swipe of the lipstick.

As for its longevity, you can expect the lip shade to stay put for a minimum of 4-5 hours, after which, it starts vanishing from the center of the lip. The shade smudges ever so lightly but that does not impact the pigment of the lip shade.

What I liked about the product…

• Pretty and opulent packaging.
• Good for travelling.
• Comfortable on lips.
• Opaque pay off.
• Precise wand application.

What I don’t like about the product…

• Might crumble and flake if layered thickly.
• May fade unevenly.
