Sunscreens are a must use product. Even I was not taking sunscreens too seriously till I read an article which scientifically showed how much damage sun can do to our skin and how sunscreens help prevent that to a good extent! So, girls and guys, if you aren’t using sunscreens, no matter how much you take care of your skin with high end products, you might fail to see the true results of those – as Sun is the culprit here! Since I had started using sunscreens, I try out multiple brands and their sunscreens. And let me tell you, there are some amazing Indian brands which are making excellent sunscreen these days. So, recently I tried out the Plum Rice Water and Niacinamide Hybrid Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ and here’s my review on it.
About the product: This is one of those sunscreens which gives you a moisturized feel along with acting as a sun shield as well. Its super lightweight and hence convenient to use on a daily basis.
Ingredients: Aqua, Propanediol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Benzophenone-3, Phospholipids, 1,3-Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Titanium Dioxide, Silica, Dimethicone, Rice Ferment Filtrate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Benzyl Alcohol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Caprylyl Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, D-Panthenol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Gluconate
Price: ₹ 399 (available at a discounted rate many times)
Quantity: 50gm
Online Availability: Here
Direction for use: I use sunscreens at least 30 minutes before stepping out in the sun – preferably on damp skin.
Packaging: It comes in a tube with a pump in arrangement which makes it super convenient to use. Further the pump in system has an additional cap which makes it completely leak proof and hence travel friendly.
My Opinion about the product: This sunscreen is best suited for cold weathers – plays the role of moisturizer and sunscreen at the same time. It does have a slight white cast – but that’s not much seen for medium to light skin tones. The fact that it is a hybrid sunscreen with SPF 50 makes it more suitable for my daily use when I get more exposed to sun. Best part of it I would say is the packaging – pump in packaging makes it super easy to use – and unlike many other products whose pump system stops working after few use, this one works till the end!
What I like and Dislike about it:
Likes:
- Very lightweight and gets absorbed well
- Gives a hydrating effect
- Hybrid sunscreen
- Has SPF 50 and PA+++
- Niacinamide and Rice Water – two amazing ingredients are present in this one
Dislikes:
- Not a good one for summers
- Has slight white cast – which might not be comfortable for dark skin tones
