Exfoliation has emerged as the latest skincare craze, captivating both the industry and consumers alike. Terms such as glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids have taken the skincare world by storm, with customers eagerly seeking out these potent ingredients. The primary objective behind incorporating these skincare acids is to promote exfoliation, a process that effectively rids the skin of excess oil, impurities, and the accumulation of debris within the pores while stimulating the renewal of skin cells.
One of the most powerful ways to achieve this exfoliation is through the use of a chemical peel, which combines AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHA’s (Beta Hydroxy Acids). This dynamic combination proves highly effective in eliminating dead skin cells and unclogging pores. My excitement led me to try out a product I had been eagerly anticipating – the Plum 10% AHA + 5% PHA + 0.5% BHA Exfoliating Peel With Green Tea. Given my positive experiences with other Plum brand products, I couldn’t wait to put this one to the test! 😊

Price & Quantity: The peel is available for a cost of INR 620 for a 30 ml bottle. Given how sparsely it will be used, the price is quite reasonable.
How to use it: It is very important to understand how to use the product properly to avoid causing any damage to the skin. Always use on dry and clean skin. Totally avoid the eye area. Depending on how sensitive your skin is, DO NOT leave the peel on your skin for more than 10 minutes. Follow up by washing your face with water and applying a heavy moisturizer.
Do not use more than 2-3 drops of the product at a time and avoid using more than once in a week.
Packaging: The peel is stored in a sturdy, frosted white glass container equipped with a matching white dropper. The glass bottle is not tinted and should be shielded from direct sunlight. The dropper dispenses an appropriate amount of peel for each application.
My opinion about the product: Plum’s Green Tea Exfoliating Peel boasts a powerful combination of skin-renewing ingredients, including 10% AHA, 5% PHA, and 0.5% BHA, all of which are exfoliating acids working on different skin layers. Together, they dissolve dead skin cells, reducing the need for physical scrubs and providing a deep cleanse by targeting oil and debris. This multi-layer exfoliation process leaves my skin feeling exceptionally soft and smooth. It also accelerates skin cell renewal, causing fresher skin to surface more quickly, leading to a reduction in hyperpigmentation.
To enjoy the benefits without irritation, follow the recommended usage guidelines carefully. If you’re using other individual skincare actives like salicylic acid or lactic acid, it’s advisable to alternate between them and this product. Overloading your skin with too many actives can result in a compromised, rough appearance.
The formulation is beginner-friendly, but caution is key; avoid combining it with other actives in your skincare routine, including cleansers with active ingredients. Always apply sunscreen the day after using this product. The serum has a gel-like texture with a thick consistency and may feel sticky when applied. Expect some redness after rinsing due to its potent exfoliating properties. Don’t anticipate a pleasant fragrance from this product.
