Hello Dearie!!!
In this post, I’m sharing my experience with the Plix Guava 10% Vitamin-C Face Serum. My main reason for purchasing this serum was to address my pigmented skin. While I don’t have any prominent patches, the pigmentation appears more like freckles. Having sensitive skin, I thoroughly researched and concluded that this serum is well-suited for my skin. According to the brand, it claims to reduce pigmentation within 7 days, detoxify and exfoliate dead skin cells for a clearer complexion, and alleviate acne-related inflammation and redness. What more could you ask for? If it delivers on all these fronts, it might just be the perfect product! I’ve just finished my first bottle, making it the perfect time to share my review. However, I’ll be updating it again after using two more bottles for a more comprehensive assessment.
About the product: Guava is a superfruit packed with powerful antioxidant properties, making it a fantastic addition to your skincare regimen. Its antioxidants support gentle exfoliation, effectively clearing pollutants from the skin. The guava extract in the Guava 10% Vitamin C Face Serum is also a potent ingredient for enhancing skin brightness and achieving a radiant glow.
Ingredients:
Guava Extract: Effectively eliminates impurities, shields against free radicals, and slows down signs of aging.
1% Pentavitin: Provides intense hydration, keeping skin moisturized for up to 72 hours.
Hyaluronic Acid: A powerful hydrating molecule that enhances skin texture and smoothness.
10% Vitamin C: A potent active ingredient that promotes collagen production and brightens the skin tone.
Price: 545 ₹ (MRP ₹575)
Quantity: 30 ml
Shelf life: 24 months
How to use it:
- Drop
Apply 2-3 drops of serum onto clean, dry skin. - Dab Gently
Use your fingertips to dab the serum softly onto the application areas in circular motions. Allow it to fully absorb into your skin. - Spread
Gently spread the serum across your face and neck for even coverage.
Packaging: The serum comes in a sleek, frosted glass bottle with a sturdy dropper dispenser, giving it a luxurious and high-end feel. The pink colored glass not only protects the serum from harmful UV rays but also adds a touch of elegance. The bottle is appealing with its pink color (girlish) and is leakproof and travel-friendly. A card board box is there which hold the bottle safely. All the details are printed over the cardboard box as well as on the bottle. The minimalistic design, featuring the brand’s logo and product details, exudes simplicity and sophistication. Overall, the packaging of this serum is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
My opinion about the product: This serum has a thick consistency, and the dropper requires effort to dispense the product. The serum is pink in color and has no noticeable fragrance. The serum has a slightly viscous texture that spreads smoothly on the skin. However, it tends to create a mild micro-lather, which takes a few seconds to fully absorb.
While using a Vitamin-C serum remember that Vitamin- C should not be mixed with AHAs, BHAs, retinol, niacinamide, or benzoyl peroxide in the same routine due to pH conflicts, reduced efficacy, or increased irritation. For example, AHAs/BHAs and retinol can make skin more sensitive when combined with vitamin- C, while niacinamide may counteract its benefits. Benzoyl peroxide can oxidize vitamin-C, diminishing its potency. Use these actives at different times (e.g., vitamin- C in the morning, others at night) or on alternate days for the best results.
Since it was my first time using a Vitamin-C serum, I initially incorporated it into my PM routine. After cleansing and drying my face, I applied the serum, followed by a moisturizer (currently, I’m using Mamaearth Cold Cream). Once I noticed that my skin was responding well to the serum, I started using it in my AM routine as well. Do not forget to apply sunscreen post serum application in your A.M. routine.
The hydration provided by this serum is impressive. Initially, during the first 3-4 days, I experienced slight itching around my chin, but it subsided, and I haven’t faced any issues since. I strongly recommend doing a patch test before incorporating it fully into your skincare routine. The brand claims it reduces blemishes in 7 days, but that wasn’t the case for me. After almost finishing one bottle, I’ve noticed a slight reduction in my pigmentation. I believe continuing its use for another 2-3 months will significantly improve my pigmentation.
I’m really happy with this serum! It provides excellent hydration, feels gentle on the skin, and is sure to work well on pigmented areas. Along with this, I also purchased the Plum Vitamin-C Serum. While I haven’t tried the Plum serum yet, I plan to use both in the future. My plan is to use the Plix Guava 10% Vitamin-C Face Serum for five days a week and the Plum Vitamin-C Serum for the remaining two days. I’ll definitely share updates later. For now, I’d say the Plix Guava 10% Vitamin-C Face Serum is absolutely worth a try! 😊
