One true example of how make up industry is moving forward is the back to back launch of brow products by which I mean to say that I am glad people are understanding the real value of our beautiful bow arrows. When I do my eyebrows I feel my makeup is more complete which even a lipstick has failed to give me such kind of feeling. So I am excited to review this particular product from our own drugstore brand “Maybelline”. Let’s dive into the review straight away.

How to Use Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon:

Precautions: Eye cosmetics in a scratched, infected or irritated eye and scratches from cosmetic eye applicators can lead to eye damage and in extreme cases, even blindness. If your eye is scratched, stop using all eye cosmetics and go to an ophthalmologist immediately. Never apply this product in a moving vehicle.
Packaging: This brow pencil comes in a sturdy black and brown chubby pencil format which luckily is a retractable one as you don’t need to carry sharpener everywhere and thus it also makes it travel-friendly. But the cap which covers the product can be brittle if you are one person who will drop the products constantly. Otherwise, packaging is pretty decent and when I got the product it came in a plastic cover which had all the vital details and once removed obviously you can’t get to see those again. Still I am happy that at least they have disclosed all the ingredient list in that way.
My take on the product: I want to start with the tip of the product initially which looks extremely sharpened on first look but it becomes blunt with usage as you see in the picture. So it becomes difficult to define your brows with this. Personally I use the Maybelline brow pencil to define the brows and fill in all the gaps and with this product I give that extra darkness to my brows which keeps the product in place and doesn’t smudge or move away.
Now to talk about the pigmentation and colour it looks in between grey and black and extremely pigmented in one go. So you got to use it with light hand and you can’t afford to play with it as it is going to give you shades of mistake on your brows. Texture is very creamy and glides easily on the brows and we won’t be facing any difficulty for sure.
As the product is creamy it tends to budge a little but with time it gets settled up. And Please be very careful and I sincerely advise not to put more pressure during application. I do have oily skin and when applied lighter it stays in place and fades away gradually making it less tinted but there was one day when I went heavy hand with this and after fading away it was looking really bad with patches here and there. So with light application it will be 100% hit for sure.
Overall Verdict: Now that even Benefit is easily available in India which is the mother of all the brow products according to me, I think you can still pay the double and get them or for beginners this should be a very good option to start with. I just wish they introduce more shades like how they have in other countries.
I say “Yay” because:
- Affordable for a brow product.
- Smooth application.
- Travel friendly.
- Comfortable to use.
- Fills in all the gaps effortlessly.
- Rich Pigmentation.
- Easily can set the brows.
- Retractable ones and no need of sharpener.
I say “Nay” because:
- Tip of the crayon is very thick and becomes blunt with usage and now I wish it can be sharpened.
- More shades can be introduced in India.
- Might not suit for oily skin as it budges in Summer easily.
- Can’t be used to define the brows because of its tip.
