Lipsticks are one thing to which we ladies never say no and how much ever we hoard them there is no sign of regret while getting the new one. That’s the power of lipsticks in whatever form they are. So we are going to dive into the review where we are going to analyze two different shades from the range of Maybelline Colour Sensational.
Product Description: Now matte comes alive with Sensational Vivid Mattes. Flaunt bright, vivid shades of matte with Colour Sensational Vivid Matte Lipstick. Everyone is bound to pay attention.
Price: Rs 475 for 3.9 gm (Most of the times you can grab it for lesser price since it has offers almost all the time)
Shades: Available in Various Shade Range
Packaging: Vivid 1 comes with its own name as “Scarlet Red” and I wish they should have did the same justice to Vivid 7 as it stands nameless. Nevertheless Vivid 7 is no lesser than its predecessor. Though with first sight both looks like they have similar packaging you can find the variation with the colour coding since Vivid 1 comes with a dark maroon shade cap, black body and black bottom and vivid 7 has more or less like a bright Orangish Red cap with Silver bottom and silver body. Both of them has their code number printed on the bottom. Overall the packaging is good but I am bit disappointed with the fact that they don’t carry their vital details like ingredients, expiry date sort of things which I definitely expect from a brand like “Maybelline”.
Formula: Both of these lipsticks have amazing formula which provides you more of a creamy smooth application and I never faced any tugging or pulling with this lipstick which is an amazing thing. It stands true to its name as it provides a matte finish without any glossy finish which is a big “Yay” again and as matte and dryness go hand in hand you cannot avoid the later part though comparatively with other brands it is very less and never makes you feel uncomfortable. With the help of little lip balm issue will be sorted out for sure. I have very dry lips and I personally never faced difficulty both during application and also with the wear time.
Shade Range: Vivid 1 and 7 looks almost same on the bullet but surprises you with its different colour range. Apart from these 2 shades they have multiple reds, pinks and nude shades from this range but my own favorite should be these two without any doubt. Scarlet Red as the name suggests is a beautiful red shade with a little of orange undertones which absolutely has the quality of brightening up your face and I love it for this. I like to play with it even during day time and also my first pick for the evening outings.
Vivid 7 has no definite undertones but can observe hints of pink in it and it looks different in different light settings. It will not fall under bold shades since you can find a stark difference from vivid 1 as it is a stunning red whereas vivid 7 is still a red but got to be subtle as its own characteristics.
Longevity: To me it stays intact for 4 to 5 hours without moving away with normal consumption of food and I have experienced its poor performance when I have had more oily food and it stayed only for 2 hours max. After that it starts to fade away leaving a slight tint on your lips but here comes big minus of these products as it tends to stick to outer line of the lips making you look like as if you are in half way of applying lip liner. But this particular thing never happens all the time so still you can be ok to use it.
