Why this khol-a-veri, khol-a-veri, khol-a-veri di.
No! No! Nothing is wrong with me, just feeling bit excited while writing this post. When it comes about beauty products, Kajal or khol is my most favorite one. There was a time when homemade kajal was used but now our Indian market is flooded with kajals or khols by different brands. I have already review Kajal of three leading brands of our country & in this post I am going to review Maybelline Colossal Kajal.
Ingredients: No detailed list is given on the pack.
Wt: 0.35 gm
Online availability: www.amazon.in
Shelf life: 24 months or 2 years
Direction of use: Draw a neat black stroke along your lower waterline. For a more dramatic look, add a bold stroke on the upper lid. To remove, use the Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover.
Packaging: Maybelline Colossal Kajal comes packed in a nice yellow colored cardboard packaging with a bright yellow colored retractable pencil which contains the kajal. The bright color looks awesome and stands out in cosmetic shelf. The retractable pencil is pretty long but unfortunately the thin stick of kajal is only 2 inches long. Overall the packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.
My opinion about the product: The kajal has a creamy texture; it is not very creamy but glides well on both lash line and water like without any tugging or pulling. The pencil starts with a fine point but after one or two use it is a thick blunt so definitely not an option if you want a fine line. However a great option if you want to smudge the line out rather than have anything precise. The finish is matte which I love a lot.
It is an opaque, strong black kajal and two or three strokes gives a jet black shade when used on the lash line. However, on the waterline, the color is not as intense as it claims to be. This kajal claims to be smudge proof & waterproof, I won’t say it is fully smudge proof and water proof but does a complete justice up to a certain extent. It stays on my waterline for 6 hours and then starts fading and on the eyelids its stays for 8 hours at least. You will need a makeup remover or wet wipes to remove every trace of the kajal or khol as it won’t go off with a simple face wash.
So overall it is a decent product with a very good quality. But I think the price is bit higher for the quantity of the product.
What I like about this product….
1. Has a nice texture & glides smoothly.
2. Stays for longer duration.
3. Water proof & smudge proof up to a certain extent.
4. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes.
5. Travel friendly packaging.
6. Easily available in local as well as online market.
What I do not like about this product…..
1. Breaks off a little under pressure.
2. Ingredient list is not complete.
3. Not jet black as claimed.
4. Doesn’t stay for 12 hours as claimed.
5. Bit expensive for the quantity offered.
