In today’s post, I will be talking about Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte lipstick Saffron Gossip. I have total three shades of this range out of which I have already reviewed Rosy Sunday & Blush Book on my blog, click Hereto read the complete review. Saffron Gossip is a shade for those who like orange shades but do not purchase before testing as this shade, not going to suit all 🙂
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a rose gold packaging which is housed inside a rose gold cardboard packaging. The cardboard packaging carries various details like shade name, number, expiry date, price, etc. Unfortunately, the entire ingredient list is missing from the packaging, I simply don’t understand why some brands do not provide the ingredient list 😠. The twisting mechanism works perfectly & caps shut tightly, making each of them travel-friendly.
My opinion about the product: Saffron gossip is a yellow toned bright shade of orange which looks a little neonish in artificial light. This lipstick has an in-built primer which truly preps and smoothens the lips, giving a non-drying, comfortable wear. It is not completely matte in fact it provides you demi-matte finish. The color payoff is amazing opaque; it does pack a punch of color even on pigmented lips.
It does not crease & do transfer initially but transferring reduces considerably once it is set. The staying power is pretty impressive and you need to do touchup every 6-7 hours. The lipstick fades evenly & leaves behind a beautiful stain. Sadly lipstick of this range settles into fine lines if worn for a longer time. Overall I liked these both lipsticks but my major complaint is that it has a flat head tip as so it becomes hard to fill in at the edges.
I think that this shade will suit to fair & medium skin tone ladies but as I said do not buy this shade before testing. I have seen swatches of this shade by many fellow bloggers and this shade looks very different on the individual.
What I like about this product…
1. Very vibrant shade. 2. Decent staying power. 3. Leaves behind a beautiful stain. 4. Non-drying formula. 5. Easily available.
What I do not like about this product…
1. Flat tip. 2. No color-coded packaging. 3. Settles into fine lines. 4. The entire ingredient list is missing.
