When it comes about C-section the first thing comes in mind is that of scar which is because of incision made by the doctor(s) while taking out the baby. Basically in C-Section involves one incision in the mother’s abdomen and another in the uterus. Here I will not talk about the C-Section as the focus is on taking care of the C-Section scar. Here are few things which you should keep in mind 🙂
- Increase your fluid intake like water, coconut water or juices.
- While coughing it may pain near the incision so hold your abdomen area near the incision while laughing, coughing, sneezing etc.
- It will pain if you will be taking out something kept on height so keep everything that you and your baby might need within your reach.
- Follow all the instructions mentioned by your doctor.
- Take proper rest. Stay in bed for 12 to 18 days. Whole life left for work, take proper rest in initial few days of motherhood.
- Avoiding lifting heavy things. Do not hesitate in taking help.
- Massage the scar with any oil (better to go with bio oil) when you remove and change the tape. Gentle massage can improve moisture and increase blood flow in the area.Â
- Once you stop using bandage for the scar then do make sure to expose your incision to the air. It will surely help in healing it.
- Avoid taking bath immediately after C-section. Do ask your doctor from when you can start taking shower.Â
- Keep eye on you scar. If you feel any bleeding, pus or green colored discharge oozing out. Do rush to doctor immediately.
