Vitamin C is among the trickiest skincare ingredients that you will come across. Despite popular views, it is not something that will suit every skin type, making it even more challenging to understand if one should go for it. However, Foxtale has come up with a very promising formulation composed of a pure form of Vitamin C, i.e. L-ascorbic acid. It has a cream base and with consistent use, you will be able to see a noticeable difference on your skin.

Here’s what the web has to say about this product:
- A targeted, overnight treatment that makes skin firm & restores collagen
- Infused with the goodness of retinol, ceramide and hibiscus
- Clinically proven to minimise fine lines and wrinkles
- Promotes cell turnover to delay skin’s ageing
- Locks in moisture to prevent dryness & irritation
- Skin appears firm, smooth, lifted and rejuvenated
Directions for use: Make sure that your face is clean and dry before using the product. Use no more than 2-3 pumps of the product in a tapping motion on the front. Pat it for a minute to help quick absorption of the product.
Packaging: Foxtale’s Vitamin C serum comes packed in an airless pump tube in orange colour. It can be extracted by pressing a pump on the top which dispenses the product through a small nozzle on the front. The plastic bottle is travel-friendly.
The pump may have to be pressed several times during the first use so that it begins dispensing the product.
My opinion about the product: Using a Vitamin C serum has several benefits. Foxtale has crafted its vitamin C serum with 15% L-ascorbic acid, which is the purest and most potent form of Vitamin C which helps to deliver a noticeable glow to your skin and helps boost collagen. You can expect it to help fade pigmentation on your skin and reduce the appearance of brown spots.
The serum has a creamy texture and a medium-thick consistency. As it is an emollient-rich formulation, it helps to build a protective layer on the skin which helps soothe it. In addition, it also contains Vitamin E which helps to calm the skin and reduces the chances of inflammation. On its own, the serum is thick enough to blanket the skin akin to a moisturiser, meaning that most of you will not even need to use another layer of moisture in your skincare routine. On my oily skin, the serum proves to be enough during the summer season so, I skip using a moisturiser altogether.
The combination of Vitamin- E and C works together to boost the photoprotective properties of the serum. Remember to apply sunscreen on top of it to ensure that your skin remains protected against sun damage.
However, there is a slight drawback to all these benefits of the serum. The pure and potent Vitamin C formulation tends to be extremely unstable and is susceptible to quick oxidisation in the presence of light and air. It is highly recommended that you store your bottle in a dark place away from sunlight to reduce the chances of this happening.
Pros:
- Potent Vitamin C Serum
- Affordable
- Shows viable result
- Doubles up as a moisturiser
- Buttery smooth application
- Superior sun protection with a combination of Vitamins E and C
- Helps lighten acne marks
- Super travel-friendly
- Also available in a 15ml trial pack
Cons:
- Highly susceptible to oxidising
- Pump can give trouble at a time
- Might not suit a select few skin types
- Product fragrance can feel a bit off
- Might cause a tingling sensation for first-time users
- Not beginner-friendly
