Bonjour Amis!!!After the horrible experience with my previous hair oil (Click Here to read), I bought Dove Elixir Dryness Care Hair Oil on my mother’s recommendation. I am using it for past three months. So I thought this is right time to share my review about it.

Product claims: Used in Egyptian medicine from 1800 B.C. and often used by Greek pharaohs for fragrance, Lavender or Lavendula, now lends itself beautifully to Dove Elixir. Lavender with rich Olive Oil that’s known to be found in the Mediterranean region, make for the virtuous concoction – Dryness Care by Dove Elixir. Packaging: This oil comes in a transparent glass bottle, which looks very cute & classy. I like the idea of pump dispenser, it has a silver color pump with a transparent cap. One can also see lavender petals floating in the bottle which looks very cool. Overall packaging is just “Wow” for daily use but if it comes about travelling, it is very bulky to carry in your bag.

My opinion about this product: It is a transparent and very light weight oil. Dove Elixir Range has 3 variants Dryness Control, Nourished Shine and Hair fall Defense. Out of these I bought Dryness control.

I have a very oily scalp so I need not to apply oil on it. On the second day of shampooing, my scalp looks like that I have poured a bottle of hail oil on it (This is the biggest tragedy of my life.. Lol)

I usually apply oil in the tips of my hair as they stay dry and need some moisture. I apply hair oil for 30- 60 minutes before shampooing my hair. Let me inform you that this oil is non-greasy in nature, so you can even do oiling post shampooing. This shampoo has a very strange smell and to be honest I don’t like it.

After keeping it for 30-60 minutes, I wash it off with my shampoo followed by conditioner. My experience with this oil says that this oil rinses with difficult after shampoo. Overall it is a decent product which can be used pre and post shampooing to give a life to dry and frizzy hair.

 

What I like about this product….

1. Makes hair soft and hydrated.
2. Easily available in local as well as online markets.
3. Beautiful packaging: a bottle with pump dispenser
4. Nice fragrance.
5. Non greasy and very light.
6. Can be used as a regular hair oil or post shampooing too.

What I do not like about this product….


1. Bulky packaging and not leak proof pump dispenser.
2. Difficult to wash off.
3. Contains 78% of mineral oils.
