A Short And Wonderful Trip To Kasauli

July 31, 2015 by anjali 18 Comments

Hello Friends!!!

Early morning, we started our journey towards Kasauli from Chandigarh. Kasauli is 55 km from Chandigarh and the trip to Kasauli is awesome as the scenic beauty says just to continue travelling (He he he.. I am sure local drivers won’t feel the same). Finally we reached Kasauli and dropped our luggage there, I have already described our tedious journey to find hotel room in Kasauli. After reaching Kasauli my reaction was just similar to a kid’s reaction after he/she reaches Disneyland.

A Short And Wonderful Trip To Kasauli

A Short And Wonderful Trip To Kasauli

Kasauli is a small but nature endowed beautiful hill station. Yes, this is not a happening place like Shimla, Nanital etc but I must say that this place has it’s own charm and beauty. I would recommend that everyone should at least visit Kasauli once.

A Short And Wonderful Trip To Kasauli

At first, we set out for Man-ki point (more famously known as Monkey point). It is the highest point in Kasauli. A small temple is also situated on the top of the hill, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. According to Ramayana when Lord Hanuman was returning from the Himalayas with Sanjivani Booty, his foot touched this Kasauli hill top. Remarkably the top of hill is in a foot shape, it’s amazing.

Later we saw scandal point and lover’s lane. Every hill station has a lover’s point and scandal point, as the old saying goes that “ wherever love blossoms, there are also heart breaks” (Lol.. koi toh rok lo mujhe…). From there we reached Anglican church, this place is so peaceful that we felt like that we are standing in footprint of god himself. There is huge parking in front of church and even it serves as the local bus stand for Kasauli.

After leaving church, we explored the local market. This market is small but is very beautiful. It was 6 PM in clock and we were starving so we thought to roam in the market and find something to eat. The shops (no restaurant except one) are small in size and you won’t get much option to dine (normal mountain fast food), you will find chowmien, momos, sandwiches, noodles etc. I would like to tell you that out of such varied cuisines (Am I being satirical?) we had nothing to eat. Why? As the only answer we found at all the places was that, sorry we have finished our daily quota and our kitchens are empty.

Yes, Kasauli is a small place and moreover cantonment which closed by 8-9 Pm. We never found anything to eat but the weather turned up was so awesome that we forgot our hunger at that time, the weather was nice, nippy, drizzling and cool. One can also see the clouds flying nearby him/her, can you feel love in the air ♥♥. After spending some time, we went back to our hotel (To read complete review of Hotel Hemkunth” click Here).

Next day we got up early morning and drove to Sunrise point. It is situated on lower mall. Sunrise can be viewed at it’s full with no obstructions from this place. This point was formerly called as Hawa Ghar, since the point witnesses an all year round air currents through it. The same point is also known as Sunset point. There you will experience something beautiful and this experience may be one of the lifetime experiences.

Kasauli is very busy on weekends but finds scarcity of people on weekdays. If you want to visit a place which has scenic beauty and has quietness, a way from cities then Kasauli is a must visit. It is also a hotspot for honeymooners as they can spend a lot of “WE” time together.
