The new Lakme ‘Naturale’ range is a fresh introduction to the shelves of the cosmetics shops and looking at its packaging, you are surely going to feel like giving it a try. The fact that the range contains the goodness of aloe Vera in it, caught my interest, since I use aloe Vera in a variety of products. The product looks very promising, coming straight from a reputed brand like Lakme but does it stand true to its claims? Let us find out.

Direction of use: After cleaning your face, the gel can be rubbed in circular motions all over your face or any other body part, as desired.
Packaging: The packaging of this gel is a treat. The product comes packed in a cardboard box of the same dimensions as the product. You will find every detail about the product, such as ingredients and usage, printed on this box. With the box, the product is packed in a light weight plastic tub format. The lid can be unscrewed to reveal the contents of the tub. You will find a limited mention of the product details on the back side of this tub. The signature colors of this range, rose and light lime, totally match up to the theme of the product.
My opinion about the product: The theme of this aloe Vera gel focuses on city pollution which can make your skin appear dull and lifeless. It claims to contain 100% pure aloe Vera gel, filtered from fresh aloe Vera leaves. Tue to its claim, the gel offers a soothing effect on the skin, when applied in moderation. The texture of the gel is light, which makes it easy to spread over the skin. It gets absorbed within one minute. This is why, it is a good option to use if you want to ease stressed out skin. However, the claim to a bright and protected skin, seems far fetched. Upon application, there is no bizarre visible effect on the skin and whether it actually helps with ‘pollution induced dullness’, is a claim, hard to measure.
As a primer, I didn’t feel satisfied with the result, because we use primer to create a perfect canvas on the skin, which would make the makeup last long. However, this gel does nothing for the pores or the texture of the skin, which would give you visible primer benefits.
The fragrance of the gel is quite light and lingers for some time post application. The packaging on the other hand, is something that I really liked. However, since the gel comes packed in a tub format, it is hard to carry easily. Also, there is no spatula included with the gel, so you have to arrange one yourself or else, use your fingers to extract the product. All in all, hydration is the only major benefit that this gel gives to your skin.
For the price and quantity, I find the product quite unreasonable. Nothing extraordinary can be expected from the product, which somehow claims to be an over the top one! Since it contains some hazardous ingredients, I would not recommend it for long term use.
What I like about this product….
- Attractive packaging.
- Somewhat affordable.
- Soothes skin.
- Gives ample hydration.
- Good for post waxing use.
- Mild fragrance.
What I do not like about this product…..
- Not economic.
- Contains some moderate to highly hazardous fragrant ingredients.
- Unhygienic.
- Lack of inner lid.
- Does not work as a proper primer.
