Maybelline The Colossal Kohl Smoked Silver| Review & Swatch

If you are a kajal lover like me then you will definitely know that Maybelline Colossal Kohl comes in 5  different shades i.e Black, Turquoise, Jewelled Jade, Crushed Emerald & Smoked Silver. More or less we all have used black one but other shades could be optional 😜. I recently purchased Turquoise & Smoked Silver from a blog sale. If you don’t have idea about blog sale then let me help you. Blog sale is usually organized by bloggers to sell their new or slightly used products at heavily discounted price. So next time if you are looking for beauty products at reasonable price then do buy them from blog sale 😘.

Direction of use: Draw a neat black stroke along your lower waterline. For a more dramatic look, add a bold stroke on the upper lid. To remove, use the Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover.

Packaging: Maybelline Colossal Kajal comes packed in a nice yellow colored cardboard packaging with a bright yellow colored retractable pencil which contains the kajal. The bright color looks awesome and stands out on cosmetic shelf. The retractable pencil is pretty long but unfortunately the thin stick of kajal is only 2 inches long. Overall the packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.

My opinion about product: This khol has a perfect creamy texture & it glides well on  lash lines without tugging or pulling. The pencil starts with a fine point but after one or two use it is a thick blunt so definitely not an option if you want a fine line. However a great option if you want to smudge the line out rather than have anything precise. The finish is semi-matte which I love a lot.

It is a gunmetal grey with a blue undertone and also has a soft fine shimmer which makes it a nice option for night party. This khol is not fully smudge proof and water proof but does a complete justice up to a certain extent. It stays on my waterline for 4 hours and then starts fading and on the upper lash line it stays for 6-7 hours at least. You will need a good makeup remover or wet wipes to remove every trace of the kajal or khol as it won’t go off with a simple face wash. So if you are bored with wearing black kohl every day then this shade is perfect for you.

What I like about this product….

1. Has a nice texture & glides smoothly.
2. Stays for longer duration.
3. Water proof & smudge proof up to a certain extent.
4. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes.
5. Travel friendly packaging.
6. Easily available in local as well as online market.

What I do not like about this product…..

1. Breaks off a little under pressure.
2. Ingredient list is not complete.
3. Bit expensive for the quantity offered.
4. The pigmentation could’ve been better.
