Hi Reader!
Back with yet another review, and this time, the spotlight is on the Lacto Calamine Light Moisturising Gel. Yes, you guessed it right! This product comes from the trusted brand Lacto Calamine. While the market price sits at ₹299, I managed to snag it at a remarkable discounted rate of ₹209. Admittedly, I find myself easily swayed by these enticing brand discounts. Without the attractive price cut, the purchase might not have happened, given the abundance of alternatives available in the market.
About the product:
1. Burst of hydration with non-sticky feel
2. Maintains skin’s natural glow
3. Skin feels soft & smooth
4. Soothes skin
5. Paraben Free
6. Hyaluronic Acid is known to hold 1000 times its weight in water. It gives the skin a burst of hydration that it needs
7. Niacinamide is known to control excess oil on face by minimising pores. This helps keep skin smooth & glowing.
8. Vitamin E & Vitamin B5 helps in retaining skin moisture & enhances skin’s natural repair process. Vitamin E also has antioxidant properties that hydrates & soothes skin.

Quantity: 150 gm
How to use it: After cleansing, apply liberal amount of light moisturising gel on face and neck and gently massage in upward motion till the serum gets absorbed. For best results, use it twice daily
Packaging: The gel is housed in a flat-bottomed light blue plastic jar, featuring a matching screw cap. A silver seal is incorporated to prevent any potential leakage. Some users might find the jar packaging less hygienic, prompting the recommendation of using a spatula for scooping. Detailed product information, including the ingredient list, manufacturing date, and usage instructions, is conveniently placed on a sticker at the bottom of the jar.
My opinion about the product: The Lacto Calamine Light Moisturising Gel lives up to its promise of delivering a lightweight and non-greasy formula. Its smooth texture effortlessly glides onto the skin, absorbing quickly and leaving a matte finish—ideal for controlling excess oil, especially in humid climates, making it a great choice for those with oily or combination skin.
However, the fragrance is quite strong, which might be bothersome for those with a sensitive nose. Personally, I find it too overpowering for facial application, so after few days of use now I am using it on other body parts. The gel also serves well as a makeup base, providing a smooth canvas for application. Given my oily skin, it works effectively for me, but it’s important to note that individuals with extremely dry skin may need an additional hydrating product.
With consistent use, I’ve observed a noticeable reduction in excess oiliness and a more even skin tone, thanks to the presence of Niacinamide, known for controlling excess oil and minimizing pores. While it’s a decent product, the strong fragrance is a drawback for me, and I won’t be reordering it. Additionally, it may not be the best option during winter when more hydration is needed. However, it could be worth a try during the summer months.
