Hello Dear!
I’m currently in the process of finalizing my winter skincare routine/products to protect my skin from the harsh weather. A staple in my routine for the past three years has been the Mamaearth Cold Cream—it’s a must-have product for me. If you’re interested, you can click Here to read my comprehensive review. Another product on my list is the Mamaearth Vitamin C Daily Glow Face Cream, but I’ve decided not to repurchase it in the future. You can find out why by clicking Here. Additionally, I experimented with the Mamaearth Aloe Gentle Face Wash With Aloe Vera & Glycerin, hoping for its effectiveness on dry skin during winter, even for those with oily skin like mine. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. To learn more about my experience, feel free to read my detailed review on it.
About the product: Mamaearth Aloe Gentle Face Wash is a skincare product designed to provide a refreshing and gentle cleansing experience. Enriched with the goodness of Aloe Vera and Glycerin, this face wash aims to cleanse the skin while maintaining its natural moisture balance.
Ingredients:
Price: ₹ 399
Quantity: 150 gm
Shelf life: Use before 24 months from manufacturing date.
How to use it:
- Apply a small amount on your wet face and gently massage with your fingertips in a circular motion.
- Concentrate on forehead, nose, and chin.
- Rinse off with water & pat dry. Avoid direct contact with eyes.
Packaging: The size of this 150 gm tube is a bit bulky, and it comes in a white color with a flip-top cap in a matching shade. However, I’ve encountered difficulties with closing the cap consistently—sometimes it closes smoothly, but other times, it requires extra effort. This inconsistency in the closing mechanism has made the overall usage process cumbersome and messy, which I find quite frustrating. The face wash tends to ooze out without any pressing (clearly visible in picture), further adding to the mess. This not only makes it inconvenient for regular use but also raises concerns about its suitability for travel due to potential leakage. Unfortunately, I’m not satisfied with the packaging and find it less than ideal. 🙁
My opinion about the product: The face wash has a gel-like consistency that feels light on the skin. It has a runny consistency due to which is oozes out even without applying any pressure. The product lathers well, ensuring a smooth application across the entire face. The subtle and fresh fragrance enhances the overall delightful experience. Only a small amount is required to cover the entire face, but caution is necessary as the runny consistency may lead to using more than needed. This can result in requiring multiple splashes of water to rinse it off thoroughly. During my initial use, I found that around 5-6 splashes of water were needed to ensure complete removal. So, careful application is key to avoid using more than necessary and ensure an efficient rinse.
This face wash excels in removing dirt, oil, and impurities, providing an effective cleansing experience. With the added benefits of Aloe Vera, it is designed to offer a soothing sensation, making it an ideal choice for daily use, particularly for individuals with sensitive or irritated skin. While I personally did not experience any irritation, I noticed a slight dryness around the skin near my eyes. To address this, a simple solution is to apply a hydrating serum or moisturizer. However, I do have reservations about its suitability for individuals with dry skin, especially during the winter months.
In brief, I would describe this product as mediocre, offering unsatisfactory results that make it skippable. The handling process proves to be rather annoying, as despite my best efforts, I find myself with excess product on my hands, requiring significant effort to rinse it off completely. After a few uses, I’ve decided to keep it off my shelf altogether. 😕
