When it comes about lipstick, I am a crazy soul. Be it a regular bullet lipstick or a liquid lipstick or a crayon, I literally want everything (he he). So when brand launched SuperStay Ink Crayon (last year), my excitement was on another level! Total 12 shades were launched, each crayon is a matte and vibrant pop of color. Damn hard to resist (seriously yaar).
Price: 599 Rs
Qt: 1.2 gm
Direction of use:
Step 1. Apply this long-lasting lipstick in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth with the precise tip.
Step 2. Use the wider side of the crayon to fill in lips, all in a swipe!
Packaging: Each crayon comes in a standard twist-up and retractable crayon pen. The tip is tapered to a point and to help maintain a precise application, the Ink Crayon has a small sharpener hidden at the base. The packaging is decent one, nothing to complain about.
My opinion about the product: Out of 12 shades, I grabbed 5 shades. The vanilla-scented formulation really clings to the lips, which makes it almost 100% transfer-proof. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about these ink crayons. I thought they will be dry and hard to apply. But I was wrong & I am glad for it. Each crayon glides smoothly on the lips. A small amount of pigment will transfer initially, later on it settles down. The pigment is able survive moderate eating and drinking, with only minor fading. You need to re-apply after 5 or 6 hours, the color stays mostly intact, the outline will crisp with no signs of feathering or smearing. Most of these shades do leave a stain behind so again it gives you some buffer time to re-apply 😉
These crayons are highly pigmented, even the lighter shades are popping on my Indian skin tone. Which means these all shades gonna suit each & every skin type. Depending on the shade, the finish can be a bit uneven. The formula sets so quickly to a grippy, matte finish. Seriously it’s tricky to build a fresh layer of color without dragging and tugging. The formulation is not perfect due to the quick-drying and tricky to build coverage, so you have be damn quick while applying these crayons.
I have following shades:
- Lead the way (15): It is a warm pinky nude shade
- Stay exceptional (25): It is a pinky mauve shade
- Hustle in heels (45): It is a warm torn red.
- Accept a dare (60): It is a berry magenta shade.
- Settle for more (65): It is a dark berry shade.
Overall I will say that these lip crayons are decent one. Nothing much exciting but the shades are pretty good for Indian skin tone 🙂
